Could all volunteer transporters please register an interest on this thread, including type (estate, hatchback, MPV) of vehicle and availability of crates/tie points for securing dogs in transit and a rough idea of your home area. I'll get right back to you with further details.

Hi, I am interested in volunteering as a transporter. I currently have a rover 25 hatchback to which I have a dog guard fitted and live in weston. I have 2 siberian huskies one 25kg and one 20kg which can both fit in the back. Although I am looking into getting an estate. I am studying animal management at weston college at present and have recently done a work placement at the whitehouse kennel so I have had some experience in handling stray dogs. I would be interested to know a bit more about it. I can be contacted at cuddlemonkey1@gmail.com. Kindest regards Becky

Thank you so much for your offer Becky . We do really need more transporters on board. at present our transport co-ordinator is working us very hard, and we do on occasion 'borrow' other transporters. This weekend is really hectic, however belsdad, our transport co-ordinator will be in touch early next week. ;D

We're not local, but if you need help covering the M5 north of Weston to Birmingham, give us a shout ETA forgot vehicle details. Vans with purpose built cages, can carry 3 large dogs seperately or 4 smaller ones.

Hi, my name is Jo. I would like to volunteer for transporting. I have a Mondeo Estate, Which I can get my 3 retired greyhounds in comfortable. I don't have a crate, I have a dog guard fitted. I was a senior homing assistance/home checker/foster carer/transport for Greyhounds4U. I live in Wokingham, Berkshire. But am willing to cover surrounding counties. Ask, and if I can I will.

Hello Jo My apologies for not replying sooner. Thank you very much for the offer of Transport. We operate from the Weston-super-Mare area predominately but like to be ready to go where ever the needs take us. You are ideal person to help us and I would like to take some details at some time to go on a list of Volunteers. As you realise, we don't do very much in your part of the world yet but it would be good to know that at least there is someone we can ask should the need arise.
When LRDR was formed earlier this year some ground rules about the transporting of dogs was drawn up.
Because several of the people who started the Last Resort Rescue had been involved with other rescues before they had gained a lot of experience in transporting dogs. They didnt want to make any of the mistakes other people had made quite innocently.
Once again thank you and pm me if you would still like to be on our list. Malc
